Gaula-river has been reopened for fishing on 27th July 2025 at 16:00 due to improved conditions. The weather has changed to cooler and more rainy. Fly fishing has been very good since reopening.
Gaula season 2025. In mid-season evaluation on 2nd July it has been decided that Gaula season will carry on as normal until end of August. Quotas and restrictions will remain the same as earlier in this season.
Gaula quotas 2025. All salmon over 65 cm must be released. Bag limit is one salmon per person per day. If fisherman kills a salmon, he must stop fishing until midnight. Season bag limit is 2 killed salmon. If person retains 2 salmon for season, he must stop fishing for that season. All seatrout must be released.
C&R quota is 3 released salmon or seatrout per person per day. C&R quota is 20 released salmon or seatrout per person per season.
Gaula Flyfishing Lodge 2025. We recommend all salmon to be released. We recommend anglers to use only barbless or pinched hooks.
We have open rods for several weeks at our Gaula Flyfishing Lodge for the season 1.6.-31.8.2025.
