Fishmaster will arrange a hosted seatrout fly fishing trip to Argentina Rio Gallegos at the Bella Sofia Lodge on 26th March – 5th April 2026. Rio Gallegos is one of the best seatrout rivers in the world, the average size of seatrout in Rio Gallegos is 4-5 kg. Every season many seatrout over 8 kg will be caught, the biggest ones caught are well over 10 kg.
Rio Gallegos is a medium size, 20-25 m wide river, with gentle gradients and easily waded, gravel-bottom pools. Bella Sofia Lodge water on Rio Gallegos is over 60 km long. They limit their guests to six rods per week, which allows them to offer every guest of personal attention and guidance. Bella Sofia gives every guest more than 10 km of river every day, which makes it very exclusive lodge.
Both single and double handed fly rods can be used on Rio Gallegos (AFTM class 7-10, rod length 9′-14′). A big seatrout has here plenty of room to run and fishing hours are often allocated when the fishing is best. Fly fishing is ‘catch and release’ only.
